Honoring the groups, individuals who gained excellent accomplishments at 43rd WorldSkill competition

On the night 11/12/2015, at international convention center, the ceremony to summarize and honor the groups, individuals who gained excellent accomplishments at 43rd WorldSkill competition in São Paulo, Brazil was held. Member of Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, attended the ceremony, other attendees included: Huynh Van Ti, Deputy Minister of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs; Nguyen Thi Hang, former Minister of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs; representative of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; representatives of the Ministries, Divisions at local and central level; Assoc. Prof. Duong Duc Lan, Director General of General Directorate of Vocational Training, the head of Organizing Committee of National Skill Competition and Deputy Director Generals along with experts and contestants of Vietnam delegation. Assoc. Prof. Cao Van Sam, Deputy Director General of General Directorate of Vocational Training presented report on competition results

Presenting a report on the competition, Deputy Director General of General Directorate of Vocational Training Cao Van Sam said, since the first attendance in WorldSkill competition (in 2007), after 5 competitions, Vietnam has won 26 certificates of excellence. Especially, during this 43rd competition, Vietnam won 1 bronze medal in IT software solutions (ranked 3/22 of participating countries). This is the first time Vietnam won a medal at WorldSkill competition. This result can be attributed to robust socialization, involvement of enterprises in preparation and participation in skill competition for Vietnam, especially the cooperation in training and participating WorldSkill competition 2015 based Memorandum signed between General Directorate of Vocational Training and Vietnam Samsung Electronics, Ltd in March 2014.

On behalf of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, member of Central Committee, Deputy Minister Huynh Van Ti warmly congratulated and delivered a sincere thank to the teachers, students, experts and members of Vietnam delegation, training institutions who have overcome difficulties and brought honor to the country.
Deputy Minister Huynh Van Ti presented certificates of merit to outstanding individuals, groups who made significant contribution to Vietnam delegation’s success in the competition.
Deputy Minister Huynh Van Ti affirmed, 1 Bronze medal and 8 Certificates of Excellence achieved at this reputable competition are testament to the effort of Vietnam vocational training system in the context where there is the shortage of facilities, equipments, human resource and resources. Concurrently, it also shows the ability of Vietnamese laborers to further integrate into the world; it is expected that the development of high quality laborers is being widely promoted meeting the demand for laborers from the region and the world.
In order to maintain this success for meeting the need of integration, Deputy Minister Huynh Van Ti suggested, General Directorate, training institutions, teachers and enterprises tighten cooperation, learn experience from operational activities, actively study, complete the curriculum, program, replicate the vocational training model in an effective manner; propose mechanism, specific policies, solutions to continually improve vocational training quality. The students need to make more efforts, be more determined in becoming highly skilled workers.

During the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented Third-class Labour Medal to Nguyen Duy Thanh – bronze medalist at 43rd WorldSkill competition; presented Government’s certificate of merit to individuals who gained certificates of excellence; granted certificate of merit of Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to individuals, groups with outstanding achievement contributing to Vietnam’s success in this competition.

Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs presented Medal to 6 foreigners to recognize the contribution of the enterprises who are foreign partners making direct investment in Vietnam for providing technical support in organization of training and participating in the event for Vietnam delegation
Vietnam first participated in 39th competition held in Japan in 2007 where Vietnam delegation attained 1 certificate of excellence; Vietnam participated the second time in 40th competition organized in Calgary, Canada. At this competition, Vietnam obtained 5 certificates of excellence. For the third time when the competition was held in London, UK, Vietnam delegation won 5 certificates of excellence. Vietnam marked its 4th time participating in the competition held in Leipzig, Germany and Vietnam delegation obtained 7 certificates of excellence at this competition.
