Promoting cooperation in the field of vocational education between Vietnam and Pakistan

On July 15, 2022, Dr. Pham Vu Quoc Binh, Deputy Director General of Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET), and leaders and staff of the General Department Office had a meeting with Ms. Samina Mehtab, Ambassador and Ms. Taskeen Umar, Deputy Ambassador, Embassy of Pakistan in Vietnam. 


At the meeting, Deputy Director General Pham Vu Quoc Binh presented an overview of Vietnam's vocational education system such as: number of vocational education institutions, number of enrollments, training levels. training, national qualification framework, etc. Deputy Director General Pham Vu Quoc Binh also mentioned solutions that Vietnam's vocational education system has implemented in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic such as: transition to online training, applying technology in teaching and learning, training to respond to labor mobility in the context of the pandemic, changes in technology, as well as making policies to attract learners to the education system vocational education.






After listening to the exchange of Deputy Director General Pham Vu Quoc Binh, Ms. Samina Mehtab, Ambassador of Pakistan to Vietnam highly appreciated the results that Vietnam has achieved in the field of vocational education in the context of the Covid pandemic. -19. At the same time, the Ambassador proposed to promote the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Technical and Vocational Training Committee of Pakistan and the General Department of Vocational Education, including some brief cooperation contents such as: : establish a long-term cooperative relationship between the two countries in the field of vocational education; strengthen information exchange and experience sharing; exchange publications, research articles, teacher training activities and other areas of cooperation of mutual interest. The Ambassador hoped that the Embassy would act as a bridge between the National Technical and Vocational Training Committee of Pakistan and the General Department of Vocational Education to finalize and sign the above Memorandum of Understanding. The Ambassador also invited the leaders of the General Department to attend a number of cooperation activities that Pakistan is planning to deploy in Vietnam in the near future.

At the end of the meeting, Deputy Director General Pham Vu Quoc Binh supported and suggested that the Embassy of Pakistan soon promote the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and accept the invitation to participate in cooperation activities between the Embassy and other agencies of Vietnam.
