The General Department of Vocational Education worked with the delegation of the Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labor, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State, Germany

On the morning of May 17, 2022, at the headquarters of the General Department of Vocational Education, Deputy Director General Pham Vu Quoc Binh received and worked with the delegation of the Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labor, State Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany by Dr. Stefan Rudolph, former Secretary of State, General Manager of the Vorpommern Business Association as the head of the delegation. Attending the meeting were Ambassador Nguyen Huu Trang, Advisor to the Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labor and representatives of the Department of Overseas Labor and related units of the General Department of Vocational Education.






Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Pham Vu Quoc Binh said that the shortage of human resources is a problem for countries around the world. Vietnam is in the period of golden population and that is an advantage to serve the country's socio-economic development as well as promote international economic integration in a profound way.

Mr. Stefan Rudolph said that Germany in general and the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are having a great demand for labor in a number of industries and occupations and wish to cooperate with the General Department of Vocational Education and related units in this field. Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs in sending vocational students after graduation to work in Germany under long-term contracts as well as seasonal contracts.

With the attention of Mr. Stefan Rudolph, Dr. Pham Vu Quoc Binh shared basic information about the pilot training of 22 key international occupations transferred from Germany as well as the implementation of the Program “Partnership mechanism for promotion of vocational education and development-oriented labor migration” (PAM Program) implemented by the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ) aims to provide skilled labor jobs for the German labor market in particular and the international market in general. More than 1,000 students after graduating from German transfer programs will be a potential source of labor not only for businesses in the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern but also for businesses throughout Germany.

Also at the meeting, the two sides briefly discussed a number of issues about procedures for sending Vietnamese to work abroad as well as the receipt of Vietnamese migrant workers into Germany according to the current regulations of the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Pham Vu Quoc Binh highly appreciates the interest of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Vietnam's skilled workforce and hopes that in the near future the two sides will continue to have working sessions to discuss in detail about collaborative content. In the immediate future, your side will provide information and labor needs for each industry and profession among the transferred occupations that the General Department is organizing pilot training for the General Department considers and assesses the responsiveness of the schools participating in the pilot. Dr. Pham Vu Quoc Binh especially wishes that the two sides can build a cooperation program on labor - employment connection between the General Department of Vocational Education and the State Business Association of Mecklenburg - Vorpommern to promote the safe and legal sending of Vietnamese workers to work in Germany./.
