Meeting of Project Steering Committee to promote the participation of Logistics enterprises with vocational education in Vietnam

The project "Promoting the participation of Logistics enterprises with vocational education in Vietnam" funded by the Australian Government was approved by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs on November 19, 2021 and the Agreement on implementation A project between the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade was signed on December 31, 2021 with the overall goal of supporting the improvement of vocational training policies according to the model. led by enterprises to equip learners with the necessary working competencies in the field of Logistics and related fields; ensure equal opportunities for all sectors of society to participate in vocational education training of high quality, sustainable and replicable.

Within the framework of the Project, on March 17, 2022, Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) in collaboration with the Australian Embassy in Vietnam, the Aus4skills Program held the first meeting of the Project Steering Committee. Attending the meeting, from the DVET, there were Deputy Director General Pham Vu Quoc Binh, leaders and officers of departments and units under DVET: Formal Training Department, VET Quality Accreditation Department, and Technical Department vocational skills, Department of Teachers and Office. On the side of the Australian Embassy were Ms. Cherie Russell - Development Counselor, Ms. Jen Bahen - Education Counselor, Ms. Julie Hart - First Secretary and relevant officials. On the Aus4skills Program side, there were Ms. Kaye Eldridge - Program Director and Program staff.





The meeting exchanged many contents, notably discussing the roles and responsibilities of the Steering Committee, the Technical Coordination Team of the Project, additional members of the Steering Committee at agencies, relevant organization. At the same time, at the meeting, the Steering Committee also discussed and agreed on the main contents of the project's work plan in 2022 and assigned the Project Coordination Technical Team to continue to coordinate with the Aus4skills Program to exchange information. , elaborate details of activities to be implemented in the plan and submit it to the Steering Committee for approval. The Steering Committee also agreed on the mode of operation, the time of the meetings and the reporting work at the request of the relevant agencies.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director General Pham Vu Quoc Binh and Ms. Cherie Russell affirmed the important role of the Project in implementing activities that Vietnam is prioritizing in the coming period such as: piloting. establishment of Sectoral Skills Council, promoting cooperation between enterprises and TVET institutions, activities to ensure the quality of TVET, encouraging development and training skills for disadvantaged groups. The successful implementation of the Project in the field of Logistics will have a spillover effect to other industries/ professions to support the development of Vietnam's TVET system.
