Vinh Phuc province’s Skills Competition

On 18th March 2016 Vinh Phuc province held the closing ceremony for province-level skills competition 2016. Attendees in the closing ceremony included Dr. Cao Van Sam - Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Vocational Training and leader of Occupational Skills Department,  Mr. Khong Son Truong, member of provincial party committee, Director of Vinh Phuc’s Department of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs, Head of organizing committee of the competition; Mr. Nguyen Van Hien - Deputy Director of Department of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs, Rector of Vinh Phuc Vocational College; leaders of vocational schools across the province and all the contestants and numerous students from vocational schools.
Vinh Phuc province’s skills competition has been held from school-level to province level. 26 schools organized the competition with the participation of 400 contestants and 116 candidates from 12 schools were selected to attend the province-level competition. The province-level competition was held within 04 days from 14-17/3/2016 and hosted by Vinh Phuc Vocational College and Vocational College No. 2 - The Ministry of Defence. 12 vocational fields selected for the competitions are the occupations that have high demand from industrial zones and will be organized at the National Skills Competition, including: Electronics; Refrigeration; Telephone installation; Brick building; Fashion Technology; Automobile technology; Software solutions; Information technology; Web design; Graphic design, Network administration (Information Technology); Mechanical design.

After 04 days of competition, the jury selected 11 first prizes, 17 second prizes, 33 third prizes and 10 consolation prizes. First prize for collectivity belonged to Vinh Phuc Vocational College; Second prize for collectivity belonged to Vocational College of Agricultural Mechanics and Vinh Phuc Technical and Economic College; Third prize for collectivity went to 03 schools: Vinh Phuc Vocational College of Industry; Vietnam Soviet Vocational College No. 1 and Vocational College No.2 – Ministry of Defence.

Speaking at the ceremony Mr. Cao Van Sam - Deputy Director General praised the results of the skills competition and appreciated comprehensive organizing of the competition from grassroots to provincial level.
Vinh Phuc province is a pioneer in training human resources for industrial parks; under the direction of the provincial People's Committee and guidance of the General Directorate of Vocational Training, the province has actively participated in the joint movement of emulation in teaching - skills training, such as: the National Skills Competition; National teaching festival; Self-made equipment contest and art contest organized by Central authority. Deputy Director General believed that Vinh Phuc province’s candidates will gain award at National Skills Competition and ASEAN Skills Competition 2016 and World Skills Competition 2017. After province-level competition is completed, the province should promptly implement training plan for the contestants with high achievement in preparation for national competition. The results of province-level competition has demonstrated the maturity and development of vocational training in Vinh Phuc; making it possible to meet the needs for human resources from labor market, businesses operating in the province and the region.
