Opening ceremony of Excellent skill competition for transport sector in 2015

(Tạp chí giao thông) From 21/12 to 25/12, Excellent skill competition for transport sector 2015 is officially launched with the participation of 94 registered candidates from 13 universities, colleges, professional secondary school and vocational school under management of the Ministry of Transport. This competition is held for 6 occupations: Automobile technology; Welding; Electrical installation; Computer-based mechanic design; Information technology; Web design.



94 contestants from 13 schools under the Ministry of Transport have psychologically prepared for the competition

According to organizing committee, the competition focus on the occupations that vocational secondary schools under the Ministry of Transport have advantage in training. In which, automobile technology saw highest number of registrations with 26 candidates.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Minh, the dean of Central Vocational College of Transport No.1 – deputy head of organizing committee said, the school has best prepared the facilities and equipments for organization of the competition to ensure maximum efficiency for the showcase of talent by teachers and contestants. Apart from organizing the competition, the school also organizes the propaganda competition of traffic safety on 25/12 along with a number of sport, culture exchange activities among the schools.
Delivering a speech at the opening ceremony of the competition, Mr. Le Dinh Tho, Deputy minister of Transport, head of organizing committee, highly appreciated the recruitment and development of talents through skill competitions. According to Deputy minister, fundamental reform of education-training to meet the demand for high quality workforce is essential to the industrialization, modernization and international integration. Excellent skill competition in transport sector is a chance for the schools to review their training quality, and learn experience to continue improving professional capability.
“I hope that you all will stay calm, confident and focus your intellectual capacity, bravery on displaying your best talent. You are already a winner when you attend this competition, you can learn more experiences from this competition to amplify your skill in preparation for your next step in life. Contestants who win high prizes at this competition will have opportunity to continue strengthening their skill in order to prepare for senior competitions such as national skill competition, ASEAN skill competition and WorldSkill competition”. Deputy minister stressed.
At opening ceremony, Deputy Minister suggested that Department of Personnel and Organization (Ministry of Transport) and the schools create the list of all 94 candidates and submit to the Ministry of Transport for rewarding. Concurrently, the Ministry of Transport will provide the agencies, organizations, enterprises operating in transport sector the information for supporting the contestants getting employment after their graduation. This is important because it assures high quality training in this sector and facilitates the development of talents contributing to the solid growth of Vietnam’s transport sector.
On behalf of the panel of judges, teacher Hoang Van Tan, Dean of Department of Technological electricity, Central Vocational College of Transport No.3, head of sub-committee on examination, supervision and grading of the exam in Electrical installation committed to the objectiveness, demonstrated the  fairness, enthusiasm and accuracy, equity in selection of outstanding contestants.
Tran Van Dan, student in Welding at Central Vocational College of Transport No. 2 said “we are very honored and feel grateful toward the Ministry and the school who give us the opportunity for mutual learning and exchanging of experiences. This is a precious chance for us to showcase our capability so that we can look forward to bigger competitions at national and international level”.
Excellent skill competition for transport sector is held every 2 year in conformity with national skill competition and ASEAN competition. This is a meaningful activity which promotes the development of vocational skill for young workforce providing high quality labor force for the sector specifically and for the economy generally.
At 43rd WorldSkill competition held in Brazil in 2015, Nguyen Duc Thanh, student of Department of Mechanics at University of Transport Technology has attained vocational skill certificate of excellence in mechanic design. Previously, Nguyen Duc Thanh also won the first prize at Excellent skill competition for transport sector in 2013 and third prize at national skill competition in 2014.
According to organizing committee, 2 contestants who have highest result at excellent skill competition for transport sector will be selected into the team of Ministry of Transport and receive further training for participation in national skill competition.
