Orientation for developing programs and training materials on national vocational skills assessment

 On June 12, in Hanoi, Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) held a workshop Orientation to develop programs and training materials on national vocational skills assessment. The purpose of the workshop is to clarify the theoretical and practical basis, evaluate and analyze the requirements of the national vocational skills assessor.

According to Mr. Nguyen Chi Truong, Director of Department of Occupational SkillsDVET assessed and issued a national occupational skills certificate to recognize occupational skills qualifications for employees, regardless of whether the employee achieved this vocational qualification through formal, non-formal training courses, or by workers self-learning, training, accumulating experience in the process of working. The system of evaluation and certification of national occupational skills has the role of promoting workers to participate in lifelong learning, enterprises to assign labor, organize training, retraining and pay according to the capacity of workers. Thereby, the quality of human resources has been constantly improved. Over the past 10 years, DVET has developed legal documents guiding the implementation of the law to organize the development of national occupational skills standards, build exam banks, set up assessment organizations, developing a team of auditors to carry out the evaluation and granting of national occupational skills certificates to employees. So far, nearly 193 sets of national occupational standards have been developed and issued; compiled exam bank for 91 occupations; certification for 42 national vocational educationa skills certificate assessment organizations distributed in key regions across the country; training and issuing assessor cards for 1,387 people; held a national vocational education skills certificate assessment for nearly 60 thousand workers across the country. national vocational educationskills certificate.

Speaking at the seminar, Ms. Nguyen Thi Viet Huong, Deputy Director General of
DVET, emphasized that in order to strengthen the capacity of the national occupational skills evaluation and certification system, strengthening training of auditors for service activities. Dynamic evaluation is essential. National occupational skills assessors play a huge role in ensuring the quality of the national occupational skills evaluation and certification. In order to become a national occupational skill auditor, in addition to knowledge, skills and professional skills, it is very important to require quality, morality, style, and attitude when performing tasks. On May 28, the Prime Minister issued a Directive on promoting the development of skilled workforce, contributing to improving labor productivity and increasing national competitiveness in the new situation. The Prime Minister has directed the implementation of solutions to strengthen the capacity of the national vocational skills evaluation, recognition and certification system; strengthening the system of management and evaluation of occupational skills; supplementing the list of industries and trades that must employ workers with national vocational skills certificates.
