Online conference on admission, training and communication

Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) has organized an online conference on recruitment, training and communication in the context of COVID-19 epidemic. 



Deputy Director General Truong Anh Dung attends and directs the Conference, attended by the Head of Departments, Units: Department of Formal Training, Department of Continuing Training, Department of Student Affairs, Department of Legal Affairs - Inspection, DVET Office and rectors of 17 colleges.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Deputy Director General Truong Anh Dung said that the COVID-19 epidemic is a situation that has never happened, it’s not only to vocational education and training (VET) but also to the whole country; In the coming time, if the students return to VET instituations, impact of the epidemic will also greatly affect the vocational education and training. Currently, DVET is focusing on supporting VET instituations such as: Guiding documents: issued many guiding documents to guide VET instituations and initially, they have been effective. timely adjustment in accordance with the actual situation; Focus on communication, online career counseling; Studying overall solutions for IT (hardware and software) to support teachers, students, etc. Proposing policies for students, teachers... In order to better understand the situation of the difficulties and obstacles from VET instituations, DVET organized the conference to directly hear VET instituations, through which to find appropriate solutions and proposals to support for VET instituations, teachers and students.




The conference heard the VET institutions about the opinions of the organization of online training in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic, VET instituations took the initiative in applying IT to the organization of training such as using software: Google Class room, Hangouts meet ... Some VET instituations have a large percentage of students participating in online training and assessment such as FPT College, Vien Dong College, International College of Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang Tourism College, Quy Nhon College of Engineering and Technology ... VET institutions also had solutions to support students, such as equipping 4G Sim cards for students to attend online learning, work with organizations that provide access to increase traffic, equip smartphones for students, take students to the field internships/practices in place of hands-on training.


VET institution discusses difficulties encountered in the implementation process such as means/terminals of students; difficulties in assessing learning results of students; practice subjects/modules; Providing tuition subsidies for poor students, students in disadvantaged areas, sea areas and islands; Some VET institution have to rent infrastructure to organize online training; Quality assurance, training, evaluation of students; Policies to support payroll loans, VET institutions do not know anhywhere to connect for supporting ...

The VET institution also proposed the contents of funding support, facilities for online training to organize training in the COVID-19 epidemic period as well as the following training; The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs is requested in writing to request provincial People's Committees to provide financial support; Policies for teachers in preparing online lessons, Reduce tuition for students… Proposing DVET to advise the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in writing a letter to instruct/request the People's Committee of the provinces a solution to make VET institutions have students' data (grades 12 and 9): name, address, email, phone number…to facilitate the enrollment of VET.


In the field of enrollment, VET institution have had solutions in this period such as strengthening online enrollment counseling, on social networks, there are VET institution that have about 70% of students recruiting via online channels. However, enrollment is also difficult because high schools and junior high schools are also affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, some VET institutions carried out enrollment programs on TV.
