Directorate of Vocational Education and Training meets with the Australian Embassy in Hanoi on the implementation of the MOU in 2020

In the afternoon of February 13, 2020, in Hanoi, Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) and the Australian Embassy in Hanoi had a working session on MOU implementation in 2020. Attending the meeting was Mr. Truong Anh Dung, Deputy Director General of DVET, leading representatives of the Department of Formal Training, the Department of Teachers, the Department of Occupational Skills and Office of DVET. From the Australian Embassy, ​​there were Joanna Wood, Education & Science Counselor at The Australian Government and a number of Australian Embassy officials in Hanoi.

In the spirit of cooperation and construction, the two sides assessed and acknowledged the past two years of implementing the MOU signed between the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Education of Australia on vocational education. In general, with the cooperation and support of the Australian Government, MOU implementation activities have been actively and deeply implemented and gained important results in the field of vocational education in Vietnam. Male. The first result to achieve is the successful implementation of pilot training of 12 transfer jobs from Australia, through the training program on transfer jobs, nearly 300 teachers have been trained and fostered to improve their qualifications. The Australian Occupational Skills Week was held in 10 provinces and cities across the country attracting thousands of attendees and bringing great buzz, organized 6 in-depth consultative workshops on vocational education policy development with over 500 participants. In addition, the first step is to introduce the first model of Occupational Skills in the field of Restaurant - Hotel to pilot in Vietnam, ...

Continuing those results, at the meeting, DVET proposed some contents to be implemented in 2020 such as: Developing future occupational skills in the context of 4th Industrial Network with many new technologies and industries. Research and develop job categories and skill lists in vocational education to meet the requirements of technologies on the list of new technologies in the industrial revolution 4.0. Australian Vocational Skills Week activities should be organized with activities closely linked to skills development and career orientation. Particularly for the the Restaurant and Hotel skill Council needs to deploy actively to put into the pilot model soon. Teachers in general and teachers who are fostered in training programs transferred from Australia in particular should continue to be fostered and improve their professional skills and foreign languages ​​under the Australian Government's scholarship mechanism. Strengthen exchanges of experience learning between teachers, vocational education managers between the two countries. Quality assurance framework for vocational education, quality assessment according to Australian standards, national data system for accreditation. In addition, it is suggested that the Australian side study the recognition mechanism for vocational qualifications and qualifications between the two countries in areas that contribute to improving the quality of training and creating conditions for Vietnamese workers to integrate international; carrying out cooperation activities, cultural and language exchange foreign languages ​​under the Australian Government's scholarship scheme.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Director General Truong Anh Dung highly appreciated the cooperation and support of the Australian Government over the past time in the development of the vocational education system. Australia is a country with a strong development of vocational education with a team of prestigious vocational education experts, vocational education system closely associated with businesses, with many similarities with the system. The results of the recent cooperation show that the relationship between the two countries on vocational education has deepened. 2020 is the year ending the achievement of the objectives of the vocational training development strategy for the 2011-2020 period, open a new development stage for the vocational education system with many advantages and challenges in the context that the vocational education system continues to change and improve the quality, integrate into the region and the world. Hopefully the relationship between the two countries on vocational education continues to be strengthened and put into effective depth in the future.
