Cooperate with Japan on developing a national vocational skill assessment system

On June 3, 2019, in Hanoi, the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) worked with the delegation of the Ministry of Health - Labor and Welfare of Japan headed by Mr. Satoshi Ono, Chief of the Ministry Office implement SESPP in 2019 programme Vietnam in 2019. Working with the delegation were Mr. Truong Anh Dung, Deputy Director General of DVET, leaders and officials of the Department of Occupational Skills under the DVET.


On June 3, 2019, in Hanoi, the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) worked with the delegation of the Ministry of Health - Labour and Welfare of Japan headed by Mr. Satoshi Ono, Chief of the Ministry Office implement SESPP in 2019 programme Vietnam in 2019. Working with the delegation were Mr. Truong Anh Dung, Deputy Director General of DVET, leaders and officials of the Department of Occupational Skills under the DVET.

At the meeting, Mr. Satoshi Ono, head of the delegation of Japan Health - Labor and Welfare, said the purpose of this visit and work to unify the implementation contents of the project of Skills Evaluation System Promotion Programm in 2019, and also the selected jobs to assess national occupational skills in Vietnam since the project started in 2012. According to Satoshi Ono, in 2019, the project will focus on assisting Vietnam in training for Sequential control and Mechanical Inspection 3rd grade, assisting Vietnam with some new jobs to be included in the list book of professions used for assessing national occupational skills. The two sides exchanged the contents of the project implementation results and the proposal of DVET, suggesting that Japan has recommendations to develop the national vocational skills assessment system, research report, organize conferences, seminars to exchange experts between the two countries in order to evaluate and replicate the national vocational skills assessment model that has been implemented in Vietnam in the past years; how to make Vietnamese enterprises aware of the importance and participate in the evaluation of national vocational skills; connecting with Japan's specific vocational skills programme in the coming time.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy
Director General Truong Anh Dung highly appreciated Japan's valuable assistance through the project on developing a national vocational skills assessment system. The information provided by the side is essential for DVET to research and develop a model of evaluating national vocational skills. It is recommended that Japan exchange more information and be interested in Vietnam's proposals on building a national vocational skills assessment model in Vietnam.
