Working with the evaluation team programme Reform of TVET in Vietnam (GIZ)

On March 11, 2018, in Hanoi, the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) had a meeting with the evaluation team on the Technical Cooperation Program: “programme Reform of TVET in Vietnam”. Attending the meeting were Mr. Truong Anh Dung, Deputy Director General of DVET, leaders of the Department of Formal Training, the Department of Teacher Affairs, representatives of the Office of DVET; Mr. Philipp Lassig - GIZ Eschbonn expert, Mr. Juergen Hartwig - Director and Ms Britta Van Erckelens - Deputy Director of Programme Reform of TVET in Vietnam.
 



On March 11, 2018, in Hanoi, the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) had a meeting with the evaluation team on the Technical Cooperation Program: “programme Reform of TVET in Vietnam”. Attending the meeting were Mr. Truong Anh Dung, Deputy Director General of DVET, leaders of the Department of Formal Training, the Department of Teacher Affairs, representatives of the Office of DVET; Mr. Philipp Lassig - GIZ Eschbonn expert, Mr. Juergen Hartwig - Director and Ms Britta Van Erckelens - Deputy Director of Programme Reform of TVET in Vietnam.


At the meeting, the two sides spent a lot of time focusing on exchanging and discussing issues about Vietnam's policy and education development strategy in the next 3 to 5 years as well as digging issues create, cooperate with businesses, develop teachers' capabilities. Some cooperation contents in the coming time are proposed by the Vietnamese side, such as: continuing to transfer pilot training programs, completing policies and laws on vocational education, focusing on linking teachers career training with enterprises, support the development and implementation of training programs and accredited quality standards and German models for a number of professions in Vietnam, exchange organization, business study on management, training, retraining of teachers and vocational managers between the two countries, supporting training and retraining courses in Germany on vocational skills for Vietnamese vocational teachers to meet the standards of vocational teachers according to German regulations, ...

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy General Director Truong Anh Dung said that since the unification of the vocational education system to a focal point of management is the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs so far, enrollment scale, the structure and quality of training has changed markedly. The DVET has focused on the conditions to ensure quality, professional qualifications as well as vocational skills for teachers, build output standards, gradually improve the legal framework to implement synchronously the Law on Vocational Education. Communication about vocational education has been promoted and given the attention of all levels of the industry, enterprises, people's awareness and society about vocational education have many positive changes. One of the important contents to focus on implementation in the coming time is the work of streamlining and vocational guidance for students graduating from lower secondary schools to learning vocational education. The DVET proposed the technical cooperation program "Reform of TVET in Vietnam" to continue to cooperate and support more effectively, contributing to improving the quality of Vietnamese vocational education in next time.
