On September 6, 2019 in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province, Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) and National council for education and manpower development organized Seminar “Autonomy of vocational training institutions - advantages and disadvantages”.

Attending the Conference were the members of the National council for education and manpower development; Prof. Ph.D Dao Trong Thi, Former Chairman of the Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children of the National Assembly; Assoc. Tran Thi Tam Dan, Former Head of the Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children of the National Assembly; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang, Former Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, President of Vietnam Association of Vocational Education and Social Work; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Duong Duc Lan, Former Director General of DVET; Prof. Pham Tat Dong, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of Vietnam Association for Study Encouragement; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Luu Bich Ngoc, Chief of the National Council for Human Resources Education and Training and representative leaders of some Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and vocational training institutions.


Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Hong Minh emphasized the autonomy issue of public non-business units in general, vocational education institutions in particular, and the Party  and our State is very interested in recent years. The 8th Conference of the 11th Session on comprehensive basic innovation of education and training has identified increasing autonomy and social responsibility of educational and training institutions as one of the solutions to implement innovation comprehensive education and training.



The delegates attending the seminar contributed valuable ideas, enthusiasm, and also proposed solutions to remove difficulties for schools, contributing to promoting the autonomy in vocational education institutions in the coming time, and at the same time helping DVET, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs together with relevant agencies to perfect mechanisms and policies to successfully implement the Party's policy and State on basic innovation, comprehensive education and training.
