Conference on Vietnam vocational training report 2015: Topic “high-quality vocational school”

On morning 20th April 2016  in Hanoi, General Directorate of Vocational Training (National Institute of Vocational Training) in collaboration with the Vietnam Vocational Training Innovation Programme (GIZ) and the Germany’s Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB ) held a conference on Vietnam vocational training report 2015: topic “High-quality vocational school”. Attending the conference from Vietnam included Dr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Director General of the General Directorate of Vocational Training, representatives of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training, representatives of the departments and units under the General Directorate of Vocational training, National Institute of Vocational Training, representatives of a number of vocational training institutions; International delegates included Dr. Horst Sommer- Director of Vietnam Vocational Training Innovation Programme (GIZ), the delegates from Germany’s Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training, KOICA project.
Vocational training report 2015 is realeased in a year with many important events for the country in general and vocational education in particular. The introduction of the Vocational Education Law 2014 taking effect from 01/7/2015 has created fundamental changes in the system of vocational education in Vietnam. That requires the system, mechanism, policies, program content, curriculum, examination, assessment, accreditation to change both in quality and content, to approach the comprehensive and complete innovation of education and training. The Resolution of 12th National Congress of the Party has identified development of human resources, especially high-quality human resources, as one of three strategic breakthroughs and considers it a key task of the country during the period 2016-2020. Those contexts and spirit that have been reflected in Vietnam Vocational Training Report 2015 to ensure that vocational training report 2015  is truly a national report with a high scientific value that provides insight into and evaluation of vocational training in order to help the policy-making on vocational training become more effective.


Dr. Nguyen Hong Minh, Director General of the General Directorate of Vocational Training spoke at the conference.
Speaking at the conference, Dr. Nguyen Hong Minh suggested that the delegates focused on exchanging, discussing and fully understanding the information, the experience of countries in the development of vocational schools in the dual- system of vocational training; the criteria, indicators on accreditation of vocational training centers, .. to which can be applied to the context of vocational training in Vietnam
