MOU signed between the General Directorate of Vocational Training, Samsung Electronics Vietnam and Samsung Skills Training Centre

On morning 15th April 2016 in Hanoi, the General Directorate of Vocational Training (Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Samsung Electronics Vietnam and Samsung Skills Training Centre on skills training program, as well as the support for Vietnam candidates in participating in 44th World Skills Competition in Abu Dhabi in October 2017. Attending the signing ceremony from the General Directorate of Vocational Training included Deputy General Director Cao Van Sam, and leaders of the departments and units under the General Directorate of Vocational Training; Mr. Bang Hyun Woo, deputy general director of Samsung Electronics Vietnam complex, Mr. Jang Dong Seob, Director of Samsung Skills Training Centre along with the representatives of the ministries, sectors, vocational training institutions, and news agencies.

According to the MOU, Samsung will directly select the candidates from the National Skills Competition 2016 in two vocational fields: mechanical engineering design -CAD and IT software solution to be sent for training in Samsung Skills Training Centre in South Korea within a year. Here, two contestants from Vietnam will be taught and trained in basic vocational skills by leading experts in South Korea, practice using skills as well as get themselves familiarized with the contents of international competitions. Aside from Vietnamese contestants, Samsung also assists the experts of two vocational fields noted above to participate in two-month training course in South Korea. Besides supporting Vietnamese candidates and training experts, Samsung also committed to covering the cost of travel and accommodation for these representatives during the 44th World Skills Competition.

At the signing ceremony, Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Vocational Training Cao Van Sam said: Attending in the World Skills Competition provides Vietnamese professionals and students with a great opportunity for working with international experts and candidates with high qualification and skills. Through the competition, Vietnam can update the advanced technology of the world creating an underpinning to improve skills for workers. Through the signing of this MoU, the General Directorate of Vocational Training will continue to work closely and efficiently with Samsung Electronics Vietnam and South Korea Samsung Skills Training Centre to realize the goal of winning medals at 44th World Skills Competition 2017 as well as proving the status of Vietnam on the map of global technology skills.
The Director of Samsung Skills Training Centre Jang Dong Seob appreciated the  craftsmanship, intelligence and hard work of Vietnamese labor. Mr. Jang Dong Seob said that the efforts of the contestants and the assistance of South Korean’s Samsung will create new breakthroughs for Vietnam delegation on international arena.
