On morning 31st March 2016, General Directorate of Vocational Training had a meeting with the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRDKorea) to promote cooperation between the 02 agencies on the basis of traditional long-term cooperation between Vietnam and Korea in the field of vocational training. HRDKorea delegation consisted of Mr. Seo Sungyoul, Head of Global Human Resources Development Team and Ms. Kim Yuri, Deputy Head of International Cooperation Team, The Global Institute for Transferring Skill (GIFTS). Attendees in the meeting from the General Directorate of Vocational Training included Dr. Cao Van Sam, Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Vocational Training and leaders of the Department of Teachers and Managerial Staff Affairs, Department of Personnel and Organization, Department of Occupational Skills and the Directorate Office.

Deputy Director Cao Van Sam appreciated the effective cooperation of Korea in general and HRDKorea in particular in the development of vocational training in Vietnam recently. Particularly within the framework of the project “Capacity building in order to establish the evaluation system of national occupational skills in Vietnam” funded by the Korean Government through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), HRDKorea as a technical consultant of the project has provided effective support to the General Directorate of Vocational Training in capacity building for managers and consultants in establishment of evaluation system of national occupational skills.

The Global Institute for Transferring Skill (GIFTS)
Based on the needs for the development of quality vocational training in Vietnam and assessment of effective cooperation between the General Directorate of Vocational Training and HRDKorea, the parties have planned the cooperation in 2016 in the main areas: Training for managerial staff and vocational trainers; Sharing experiences and expert assistance in the training and organization of skills competition; Enhancing exchange and sharing of experiences on the management of vocational training through participation in the international forum and study tours; Sharing experiences and supporting in establishing national skills assessment centers.

On this occasion, Deputy Director General Cao Van Sam also extended an invitation to HRDKorea to participate in the Network of Development Partners and Donors in the field of vocational training within the framework of Vietnam Development Partnership Forum (VDPF) to jointly support Vietnam in developing vocational training system, Mr. Seo Sungyoul expressed willingness to join the network of development partners, donors in the field of vocational training within the framework Vietnam Development Partnership Forum (VDPF).
