The contest award ceremony “Vocational training and employment opportunities in the world of international integration”

(The Directorate Office) On 8th March 2016, within the framework of the conference “Review of phase 1 of International Skills Partnership on quality assurance between UK and Vietnam” in Hanoi, the Award Ceremony of the competition “Vocational training and employment opportunities in the world of international integration” was also held. Attendees in the conference and award ceremony from Vietnam included Mr. Huynh Van Ti - Deputy Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs; Mr. Cao Van Sam - Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Vocational Training; 

leaders of departments, Office of the General Directorate of Vocational Training and over 100 delegates from vocational colleges across the country. Attendees from the UK included the Lord David Puttnam – UK Prime Ministerial Trade Envoy to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar; Ms. Cherry Gough, Director of British Council in Vietnam; the staff of British Council; businesses and colleges from the United Kingdom.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Tran Quoc Huy - Chief of Office of General Directorate of Vocational Training representing the Contest Committee said:
The contest “Vocational training and employment opportunities in the world of international integration” was implemented from 16th March 2015 to 26th February 2016. This is the fourth time the competition was held for the students studying in vocational secondary schools, vocational colleges across the country. A highlight of this year competition is that the category is not restricted to video clip only but also includes photographic work of vocational training. The contest has been implemented in more than 200 vocational colleges and vocational secondary schools across the country.
It can be said that the entries in two categories submitted to the contest this time have shown enthusiasm, passion and creativity, the ability to catch up with the trend of modern technology of the youngsters. Some video clips were well-produced and elaborately designed, innovative in both content and form of expression. Many photographs have brought about new thinking, unique perspective. The theme of the products has strictly adhered to the purposes, requirements of the contest.
The Organizing Committee has decided to award 01 first prize, 01 second prize, 01 third prize and 01 award for product that received highest number of votes from the audience in the video clip category.
In the category of photographic work, the organizers awarded 01 second prize and 03 consolation prizes for 03 works that met quality and criteria of the contest.
The contest has contributed to raising the awareness of the society about the importance of vocational training, career orientation and employment, especially among the youth across the country and help young people better understand vocational skills that should be learnt in the process of vocational training in order to perform good job when recruited. Further more, the contest also contributed to promoting the participation of enterprises in the process of vocational training and improving the skills of students through the apprenticeship/training programs in enterprises.
Awards to the units and individuals in video clip category:
- First Prize went to the video clip "Bay thật xa" by Binh Thuan Province Vocational College. The reward came with 25 million VND;
- Second prize went to Ho Chi Minh Vocational College of Technology (Video 01). The reward came with 15 million VND;
- Third place belonged to Chu Lai - Truong Hai Vocational College. The reward came with 10 million VND;
- Award for most popular product belonged to Vocational College of Agriculture Mechanics. The reward came with 3 million VND;
- Award for accurate prediction of the contest prizes belonged to Ms. Le Thi Nhu Hanh, College of Binh Thuan Province Vocational College. The reward came with 2 million VND.


Deputy Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs Huynh Van Ti and the Lord David Puttnam presented Awards in video clip category.
Units and individuals that won photo category:
- Second prize belonged to the photo set by Ho Chi Minh Vocational College of Technology (Photo set 2). The reward came with 15 million VND;
- Three photo sets that won consolation prizes include:
+ Photo set by Bac Ninh Vocational College of Electromechanics and Construction;
+ Photo set by Chu Lai – Truong Hai Vocational College
+ Photo set by Can Tho Vocational College
   * Reward that came with 5 million VND.
- Award for most popular online product belonged to Vocational College of Agriculture Mechanics. The reward came with 3 million VND;
- Award for accurate prediction of the contest prizes belonged to Ms. Van Thi Hoang Yen, a teacher at Trung Vuong Secondary School, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. The reward came with 2 million VND
